Edward Dudek, 91, passed away on Thursday, June 16, 2022 after a brief illness. He was born on November 19, 1930, and was a lifelong resident of North Chicago, IL.  He was a U.S. Navy Veteran, and a long time active member of Queen of Peace Church (formerly Holy Rosary) in North Chicago.  Ed owned and operated Tenth Street True Value Hardware with his business partner, Gary Znidersic for many years, and was an avid and skilled machinist, woodworker and restorer of antique store fixtures.  He is survived by his sister, Florence Prorok, a special friend, Donna Freiburger, and many nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Anna Dudek and his sisters; Lottie Haberski and Helen Wasniewski.  The family would like to thank Lottie Sieka, the staff at Lake Forest Northwestern Hospital, and the hospice staff of Vitas Health Care for their wonderful care of Ed. Visitation will be on Thursday, June 23, 2022 at 9:00 am at Queen of Peace Church, 910 14 ^th Street, North Chicago, IL with Mass of Christian Burial following at 10:00 am.  Entombment will be at Ascension Cemetery, in Libertyville, IL.  In lieu of flowers donations in Ed's memory may be made to: Vitas Health Care, 630 Waters Edge Rd., Lombard, IL.  60148.
