Helen Mildred Rubich (nee Hinkle) of Waukegan, IL passed away on Tuesday, December 16, 2025 at Integrated Palliative and Hospice Care in Libertyville, IL. She was 96. Helen was born New Brighten, PA. on December 18, 1928. After relocating with her family, she spent her formative years in rural Salem, OH. She had a varied and entertaining work life. She worked as a Secretary for Church Budget Envelope and Mailing Co. in Salem before marrying John L. Rubich on March 27, 1954. They had two children; a daughter Christina and a son Louis. She then settled in as a homemaker and mother. She returned to work after her children were in College. She worked for Jobs Inc., with a majority of the time for Abbott Laboratories in North Chicago, IL. She then went on to become the Financial Secretary for the North Chicago Police Pension Fund. She was a volunteer at school PTO's and also for the Lake County Crippled Children's Clinic. She was an active member of St. Mary's Lodge # 75 Croation Fraternal Union,  serving as the Recording Secretary for many years. She is survived by her two children; Christina and Louis Rubich. She was preceded in death by her husband John, her parents; Helen and Joseph Hinkle, four brothers; Jackie, Joseph, James and John, six sisters; Sarah Wilson McClish, Mary Gilby, Eleanor Barrett, Mabel Kutz, Joan McMurray, and Della Millness. As per her request there will be no services.
