Joseph Kunda Jr., 70, of Woodbridge, VA and formerly of Lake Bluff passed away on June 2, 2012. He was born on August 22, 1941 to Joseph Sr. and Phyllis (nee Jerome) Kunda. After graduating from Lake Forest High School, Joe began a 40 year career with the Dept. of Defense, and an ongoing participation in Civil Air Patrol. An avid reader, pilot, plane owner, NASCAR enthusiast, and CB radio operator; Joe was also a licensed Hamm radio operator.

He is survived by a brother, Ronald of Lake Bluff, a sister, Elizabeth (Gerald) Wachowiak of Waukegan, four nieces; Diane (Steve) Bunk, Debbie (Paul) Fiegen, Cathy Wachowiak, Jodie (Joey) Charo, one nephew, Gerard Wachowiak, two great nephews, five great nieces, and beloved friend, Jennifer Sheppard of North Carolina.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

A Memorial Mass will be on Friday, June 15, 2012 at 10:00 am at Most Blessed Trinity Parish, Queen of Peace site, 910 14th Street, North Chicago, IL. The family will be receiving friends from 9:00 am until time of Mass. Inurnment will be at Ascension Cemetery in Libertyville. In lieu of flowers, donations to the charity of your choice in Joe's name would be appreciated.
