Theresa M. Belec (nee Janocha) 90, of Lake Bluff, IL, passed away at her home on Friday July 30, 2021 with her family by her side. She was born in North Chicago, IL on Oct 7, 1930. She was a member of Holy Rosary/Queen of Peace Catholic Church in North Chicago, IL and also Mother of God Church in Waukegan, IL. She was a member of the Catholic Women's Club of Lake County. Theresa graduated from the St Therese School of Nursing and worked as a nurse in the OB department at St Therese Hospital from where she retired.

Theresa, at the young age of 33, lost her husband, Bob, to cancer. She worked hard raising her 4 small children with help from her family. Her faith and family were the two most important things in her life & are what helped her through her life's journey. Words cannot express how thankful her children are for all the sacrifices she made through the years.

She is survived by her children Robert, Catherine (Michael) Malone, Ruth (Jon) Olander, and Maribeth (Greg) Mazzetta, and was "Grama Yuyu" to 11 grandchildren, and 3 greatgrandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Josephine (the late Arthur) Isaacson, many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband Robert, parents Stanley and Catherine Janocha, 3 brothers Joey, Ted, and Tony, 2 sisters Ann and Mary Janocha, her niece Ann Lakiotis, and her nephew Andy Janocha.

Mass of Christian Burial will be on Tuesday, August 3, 2021 at 10:30 AM at Queen of Peace Catholic Church, 910 14 ^th Street, North Chicago, IL. Visitation will be one hour prior to Mass beginning at 9:30 AM at the church. She will be laid to rest at Ascension Cemetery in Libertyville, IL.
