Walter "Wally" Macrowski, 96, of Gurnee, formerly of North Chicago, passed away on January 26, 2016. He was born on October 6, 1919 in North Chicago. He was a wonderful husband to the late Emily, nee Rygiel. He had a great sense of humor and a ready smile for everyone he met. Walter was a World War ll veteran, a barber in North Chicago for many years, and a prolific wood carver.

Walter is survived by two children; Judith and James (Valerie), three grandchildren; Stephen (Diane), Sarah, and Lynn, and a brother Ted. He was preceded in death by his parents; Julius and Lucy Macrowski, sisters; Isabelle and Lorraine, and his brothers; Chester and Henry.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, January 30, 2016 at Queen of Peace Church, 910 14th Street, North Chicago at 10:00 am with interment to follow at Ascension Cemetery in Libertyville. Friends may visit on Friday, January 29, 2016 from 4 until 7 pm here at the funeral home.
