Wilfred F. Balmes, 95, of North Chicago passed away surrounded by his family on March 13, 2015. He was a Veteran of the US Army and served during WW11. He was also a 4th degree member of the Knights of Columbus, Waukegan Lodge #731. He had been a resident of North Chicago beginning in 1951, starting Balmes Flower Shops and Greenhouses, which continued through five generations of family operation. He retired to the hills of Arkansas where he spent time enjoying the wild life and many friends. He spent his last three years at Barton Senior Residences in Zion.
