Yvonne Willms (nee Soderberg), 86, of Waukegan, IL. passed away on Wednesday, December 22, 2021 at home. She married Charles Willms on September 11, 1954, who preceded her in death in 2019.  Yvonne was a dedicated mother first and foremost.  She was loving, caring, selfless, funny and lived to serve others. She touched many lives with her kind heart and generosity. She loved hosting Christmas Eve.  Her door was always open to family, friends and neighbors where many lasting memories were made through this tradition.  Her greatest joy was being a stay at home mom and raising her six children and once that was accomplished, she went to work for the Waukegan Public School System and was employed by Jack Benny Junior High School cafeteria for thirty plus years. She made lasting friendships with the ladies she worked with. And she also loved getting together with the group of ladies she met through the Spaulding School PTA.  Those get togethers lasted for fifty years. She especially enjoyed conversations around her kitchen table. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. She is survived by her two sons; Dorman (and Linda) of Waukegan and Kevin of Malvern, Iowa, her two daughters; Robin Ward of Wadsworth, IL., and Carla Sayre of Lindenhurst, IL., her daughter in law, Lynne Willms, and her ten grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her husband Charles, her parents; Harry and Olympia Soderberg (nee Hendrickson), two children; Beth Ann "Buffy" Willms Brooks and Brian Willms, and a brother, Ronald Soderberg. Funeral Services were privately held at Bradley Funeral Home in North Chicago, IL. She was laid to rest at Mt Olivet Memorial Park in Zion, IL.
